Carrying Out Missions Safely, Effectively and Efficiently

The Overview:

Inversion Space was founded in 2021 by Justin Fiaschetti and Austin Briggs with the mission to build the first affordable, high cadence return capability for the commercial and defense space industries. With launching to space becoming cheap and frequent, comparable options for return must become available to allow for a robust economy in space. Inversion Space believes in a future where returning from space is as common as launching to space. Inversion Space is building reentry vehicles faster and cheaper than ever before by focusing on simplicity.

The Challenge:

The team’s testing and operations setup was initially somewhat disorganized. It consisted of Excel spreadsheets, paper checklists, Word documents, and carrying them around. There was a lack of version control and communications. The team had no idea which items were checked off among the operators. As Inversion Space expanded, they looked for a robust infrastructure to help keep track of their testing and operations. Inversion Space needed a solution to support their new launch, which consisted of hundreds of testing and manufacturing procedures and iterations of designs.

The Solution:

Epsilon3’s software platform manages complex operational procedures, saving operators time and reducing errors. Epsilon3 powers organized and efficient operations to let space companies get back to doing what they do best: building satellites, launching rockets, and bringing humans and cargo safely to and from space.

The Result:

With Epsilon3, the entire Inversion Space team can communicate directly with its operators and engineers during procedures. The mobile capability allows everyone on the team to be on the same page. They migrated all of their procedures onto the platform, and the flow was natural to run and execute. Epsilon3 has helped achieve peace of mind around testing, ensuring consistency around each test. It’s the much-needed standardized operations software the team needed with the ability to collaborate with other stakeholders. Epsilon3 allows Inversion Space to stay organized and move quickly in testing and operations.
