Epsilon3 Changelog #34: Image Alignment and Captions, External Data Validation

We would like to start this changelog with a photo from our friends at World View. Unofficially taking the “Epsilon3’s Biggest Screen” title (temporarily?), World View has started hitting major milestones recently, now conducting their operations completely on Epsilon3.

Also, a huge congratulations to the team at Firefly Aerospace, which recently reached orbit and deployed customer payloads with its Alpha rocket.

In addition to our roadmap from Changelog #33, we wanted to let you know about an upcoming exciting change. We will be rolling out some visual updates in our next release to help you better use your screen real estate and to make important, frequently used functions more accessible. Be on the lookout for these in less than 2 weeks after our next update!

For those looking to accelerate new features into your procedures, please see our blog post about our favorite and most popular features!
Finally, it was a pleasure to speak with Ryan at Payload Space on their Pathfinder Podcast about “Software for Space.” Check it out and let us know what you think!

Improved! Right align images and add captions

  • You now have the option to display images in the right half of the step card for side by side viewing with other step content.

  • Additionally, you can now add captions to all images!

New! Send commands with file uploads

  • Route files from Epsilon3! You can now send a file to any connected client during a procedure run right from our command interface.

  • For example, send a .csv to your satellite or save an attachment to a database repository.

  • Currently, the max file size is 767KB, but that will be increasing in the future.

New! Requirements tracking and integration

  • We now support integrating Epsilon3 with your Requirements Management systems, to help manage requirements for audits, certification, traceability and document tracking.

  • Using the External Data API, you can now add direct links to requirement documents to procedure steps, and provide helpful details to the operator such as requirement name, any additional details, and whether the requirement is still valid.

  • Additionally, once you connect Epsilon3 to your requirements system, we’ll dynamically update requirement links with the latest information, to ensure operators are complying with the most current certification and validation details.

  • As an extra safety check, when starting a procedure we’ll prompt the operator if any requirements have become invalid or out of date.

New! Automated user provisioning

  • Simplify your large team management by linking your identity provider to save time, improve security, and reduce errors.

  • Epsilon3 now supports the SCIM standard for automatic user provisioning.  Connect Epsilon3 to your IDP (e.g., Okta) to automatically provision and update users in the Epsilon3 app.

  • Manage E3 workspace assignments via an IDP group membership!

Improvements

  • Performance upgrade! We've significantly reduced the time taken for queries that load running procedures.

  • When the label field is specified for external data supplied via the API, we now show that label everywhere the external data item is shown.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that allowed autosave to release a procedure.

  • Fixed an issue where releasing a procedure could fail and remove the review.

  • Fixed an issue where users were allowed to complete a step without signoffs when a run was paused.

  • Fixed an issue where snippets did not respect the "Section labels should be displayed as numbers/letters" setting.

  • Fixed an issue where checkbox data was sometimes not shown in the run CSV.

  • Fixed an issue where text could be seen through the buttons in the running procedure header.
