Epsilon3 Changelog #99 - Workback Schedules (Automated Planning), More Flexible Work Orders, New Triggers, Conditions, and Actions for Workflows

Welcome to the latest edition of the Epsilon3 Changelog, covering release versions v 1.209 - 1.211. Customer feedback fuels each new feature and improvement, so we’d love to hear what you think about these latest developments. Let’s keep driving mission success!

TL;DR:

  • Workback Schedules (Automated Planning)

  • More Flexible Work Orders

  • New Triggers, Conditions, and Actions for Workflows

New! Workback Schedules (Automated Planning)

  • Create draft workback schedules from a delivery date and target assembly, with dependencies and durations pre-populated from your BOM, historical procedure runs, vendor lead times, workspace calendar, and schedule exceptions - so you start from defaults instead of a blank canvas. Infeasible dates, inventory shortages, and resource conflicts surface as you iterate, letting you adjust scope, sourcing, or start dates before anything is committed. When you're satisfied with the draft, publish it to automatically create the associated work orders, POs, and shipments.

New! More Flexible Work Orders

  • Users can now fully customize work instructions for each work order. While default instructions are still included, some work orders may require additional or unique procedures—so you can now add, remove, and reorder instructions as needed, and assign an owner to each instruction.

New! New Triggers, Conditions, and Actions for Workflows

  • Workflows now come with some new features - 2 new triggers for Issues (“Linked to Active Run” and “Linked to Active Step”), 2 new conditions for Issues (“Severity”, and filtering on “Notes”), and 3 new actions (“Send Notification”, “Pause Linked Run”, “Pause Linked Step”). The “Send Notification” includes variables that can be used to include information about the specific issue/run/step that triggered the notification. The “Pause Linked Run/Step” expands users’ control over the type of Issue that can pause execution during a run.
